Rudrapur, Apr 18 (PTI) Three religious structures allegedly built illegally on government land in Uttarakhand’s Udham Singh Nagar district were demolished during an anti-encroachment drive on Saturday, officials said.

Officials said the three structures, including a mosque and two mazaars, were constructed illegally on irrigation department land in Gularbhoj Dineshpur area.

The administration had issued notices to the occupants three months ago following a survey, directing them to produce land ownership and permission related documents.

The occupants failed to present any valid ownership papers for the structures, they said.

Subsequently, a joint team of district administration and police undertook the demolition of the structures on Saturday morning, officials said, adding that the irrigation department reclaimed possession of the land immediately after the demolition action. PTI DPT AKY AKY ARB ARB ARB
