Three dead, nine injured as pick-up van collides with truck in Bihar

Chhapra (Bihar) May 8 (PTI) Three people were killed and nine others injured as a pick-up van collided with a truck in Bihar’s Saran district on Friday, police said.

The accident occurred near Banwar Dhala in the Daudpur Police Station area when the collision took place, a senior officer said.

Talking to PTI, Daudpur Station House Officer Kundan Kumar said, “Early in the morning, a pick-up van carrying 12 people collided with a truck near Banwar Dhala, leaving three dead and nine injured.” The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and the police were trying to ascertain the identity of the deceased and the injured, he added.

The SHO said that the truck driver fled the scene after the accident.

“The police are investigating all aspects of the accident. Efforts are on to trace the truck driver,” he said. PTI SUK BDC
