Gurugram, May 1 (PTI) Three people were killed after a truck rammed into another on the IMT Manesar flyover on the Delhi-Jaipur highway in the early hours on Friday, police said.
A truck was parked on the side of the road without reflectors or indicators and a moving truck crashed into it. All three deceased were in the moving truck, they said.
An FIR was registered against the driver of the parked truck and police handed over the bodies to the kin after the postmortem.
The complaint was filed by the deceased truck driver’s brother Durga Prasad, a resident of Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh.
The complainant said he and his brother Shankar Bind, both truck drivers, were driving from Bhiwadi to Delhi on Thursday night. Shankar’s truck was in front, while he was behind. When the vehicles reached the flyover at IMT Manesar around 2 am, a vehicle ahead of Shankar’s truck suddenly changed lanes and his truck collided with the rear of a truck parked on the road.
“The truck had no turn signals or reflectors on. In the collision, my brother Shankar Bind and helpers Sunil Kumar and Ramraj Prasad were seriously injured. After receiving information, a police team reached the spot and rushed all three injured to the hospital, where doctors declared them all dead,” Durga Prasad said in his complaint.
ASI Vikas Kumar, the investigating officer, said “An probe is underway to determine why the truck was parked on the highway lane. Based on the truck’s number, a notice will be sent to the owner, asking him to produce the driver. A further probe is underway.” PTI COR SKY SKY
