Three boys drown while bathing in pond in UP’s Bareilly

Bareilly (UP), May 3 (PTI) Three boys drowned after they ventured into deep waters while bathing in a pond at a village here on Sunday, police said.

The incident took place in Tilmas village under Meerganj police station area.

The deceased were identified as Ansh (8), Ayush (9), and Trivendra alias Dev (10).

Station House Officer Sanjay Tomar said information was received around 4.30 pm that three children had gone to bathe at the village pond between 2 pm and 3 pm and drowned.

The children were taken to hospital by family members, where doctors declared them dead.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the children ventured into deep water while bathing and drowned, police said, adding that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem and further legal proceedings are underway. PTI COR CDN SMV ARB ARB
