Basti (UP), Aug 29 (PTI) Three people died after the motorcycle were travelling on collided head-on with a car on the Basti-Tanda road in the Basti district on Saturday evening, police said.
The driver of the car sustained injuries and remains critical, they said.
According to police sources, two motorcycle-borne persons died on the spot, while the third individual, identified as Sharif (28), was declared dead by the doctors at a hospital.
The other two deceased have been identified as Shahabuddin (28) and Noor Alam (26). All three were residents of the Basti district, police said.
The car driver, Avinash Verma, is critically injured and is undergoing treatment at the district hospital. He is a resident of Azamgarh district, according to police.
Additional Superintendent of Police Shyamkant said a collision occurred between a car and a motorcycle. “Three persons have died, while one person is injured and is undergoing treatment at the district hospital,” he said.
