New Delhi, Aug 31 (PTI) Newly appointed BJYM national president Hemang Joshi on Monday attacked those organising “artificial protests”, asserting that anyone coming in the way of the country’s journey towards a Viksit Bharat will be “uprooted and thrown away”.
“To those who organise these so-called ‘artificial protests’, I want to say that in the school where you passed Class 12 and are celebrating so much, our workers have done their PhDs. When the time comes, they will show you what they are capable of,” Joshi said at the charge-taking ceremony held at the BJP headquarters extension office here.
“Today, I want a promise from all of you. Together with me, we must uproot and throw away anyone who comes in the way of the goal of a Viksit Bharat,” he told the gathering.
Joshi said the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) will be the first to counter any “false information” being spread among young people against the country.
“I request you that from now onwards, whenever any false information is spread among young people, the first organisation to counter it should be the BJYM,” he said.
“Our country’s illustrious Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji has not taken even a single day’s leave in his life. Whatever the circumstances, he has remained composed and continued on the path of nation-building… Our party is not a party of protocol; it is a party of performance.
“When we are moving forward with the belief that the nation is greater than the party and the party is greater than the individual, in the service of the country, should we tolerate such forces of distraction? Should we give them a strong reply or not?” he asked.
Joshi, who is also a BJP MP from Vadodara, took charge as the BJYM national president at the function in Delhi.
He received a grand welcome at the BJP headquarters extension office, where dhols were played as a large number of BJYM workers raised slogans in his favour.
Joshi thanked BJP national president Nitin Nabin for entrusting him with the role.
“I am deeply grateful to Nitin Nabin ji for giving a small worker with no political background the responsibility of serving as national president of the Yuva Morcha,” he said.
During the programme, outgoing BJYM president Tejasvi Surya handed over the party flag to Joshi.
Surya said the BJP is the only political party where an ordinary worker from a non-political family can rise to become the national president of its youth wing.
“This is the speciality of the BJP, where an ordinary worker can become the president of the largest youth wing of the largest political party. This is possible only in the BJP. I am a living example of this,” Surya said. PTI ADI MNK MNK
