Amaravati, Jul 28 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday directed officials to speed up the construction of Amaravati greenfield capital city works to ensure that every project is completed within the stipulated timelines.
Stressing that the guiding principles for the capital works should be speed, quality and timely delivery, the chief minister observed that though the pace of work has improved compared to the past, it must further be enhanced.
“Speed up the construction of Amaravati capital city works to ensure that every project is completed within the stipulated timelines,” Naidu said in an official release.
Addressing the representatives of construction agencies during a review meeting at the secretariat, he said that executing capital works is a “prestigious opportunity,” urging them to make the best use of it.
He assured them that the government is committed to ensure there were no financial constraints and made it clear that delays in execution would not be acceptable.
Further, Naidu reviewed the progress of 95 projects being undertaken in Amaravati at an estimated cost of Rs 50,999 crore.
He instructed officials and contractors to achieve a minimum monthly work progress of 7.92 percent and directed all departments and senior officials to work in close coordination to resolve issues related to land acquisition, funds mobilisation, statutory approvals and project designs.
Emphasising a broader vision for the capital region, Naidu said Amaravati should not be viewed merely as a cluster of 29 villages but as an integrated urban region along with Vijayawada and Guntur.
Infrastructure development, Naidu said, should be planned and executed accordingly across these areas, alongside road construction The chief minister called for greater emphasis on increasing green cover throughout the capital region, and announced that he would personally monitor the progress of capital city’s development works on a regular basis.
