Indore, Sep 24 (PTI) Six persons, including a Rajasthan-based man who was to get married here in a few days time, were arrested in separate cases for alleged possession of mephedrone, a Madhya Pradesh police official said on Thursday.
The six, including two women, were held in two cases over the past three days with 64.85 grams of mephedrone worth Rs 3.5 lakh, Deputy Commissioner of Police Aman Singh Rathore said.
“Sheikh Anas, a resident of Jhalawar district in Rajasthan, who was scheduled to get married in Indore in four days, was detained in Kota on suspicion of supplying mephedrone in Indore. He was subsequently arrested on the basis of leads gathered during the investigation,” Rathore said.
In another case, a flat in Mahalaxmi Nagar was raided after commotion was heard from it, he said.
“The flat was booked for a party. The police team recovered mephedrone from the premises. We arrested Shehzad Chaudhary (38), Mohammad Saddam (34), Harsh Sharma (40), Rupali Rawal (25) and Rani Kaushal (33),” he said.
A detailed investigation is underway and information is being gathered about the movable and immovable properties of the accused, Rathore said. PTI HWP LAL BNM
