Gangtok, Jun 20 (PTI) The ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) on Saturday rolled out an intensive Youth Connect Programme in North Sikkim, calling on young party workers for grassroot mobilisation and to become the driving force behind the state’s future development agenda.

The event brought together office-bearers from various levels as part of a statewide youth outreach campaign launched under the direction of Chief Minister and SKM president Prem Singh Tamang.

According to an SKM release, the initiative is aimed at strengthening the party’s organisational structure while ensuring greater accountability and transparency among youth leaders at every level.

The programme focused on introducing newly appointed office-bearers and defining their responsibilities within the party organisation.

Youth leaders were urged to remain committed to the party’s ideology and the chief minister’s vision while upholding discipline, loyalty and public service.

“The Youth Connect Programme is built around the Triple C concept — Connect, Communicate and Contribute — to strengthen the youth wing and accelerate the state’s development journey,” the release stated.

The party emphasised the need for youth empowerment, asserting that a financially secure and self-reliant young population is essential for political stability and sustainable growth.

The two-day programme, which concludes on June 21, marks the final phase of SKM’s statewide Youth Connect campaign, with North Sikkim being the last district to host the outreach initiative. PTI COR NN
