Jaisalmer, May 1 (PTI) A shepherd drowned in a reservoir while attempting to rescue a goat in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district, police said on Friday.
The incident occurred near Lohata village under Lathi police station limits, they said.
According to police, the deceased, identified as Yaseen, was grazing goats when one of them reportedly fell into a water storage pond. In an attempt to save the animal, he jumped into the reservoir but could not come out and drowned in deep water.
Family members later pulled him out and rushed him to the Lathi hospital, where doctors declared him dead after examination.
