Indore, Oct 26 (PTI) Renowned author and Lok Sabha member Shashi Tharoor, along with more than 45 other literary figures and translators from across the country, will participate in the ‘Vani Sahitya Utsav 2026’, scheduled in Indore from October 29 to 31, organisers said on Monday.

“This event is an effort to bring Indian languages, ideas, and cultural diversity on a common platform,” Aditi Maheshwari, CEO of Vani Prakashan Group, told reporters.

She said that during the three-day event, a total of 27 sessions will be held on various topics, including literature, culture, Indian knowledge traditions, artificial intelligence (AI), copyright, and translation.

“AI and digital technology are bringing about changes in the world of writing and publishing. In such a situation, serious discussions on topics like authorial freedom, copyright, translation, and linguistic diversity are necessary,” Maheshwari added.

According to organisers, more than 45 writers, including Tharoor, Uday Prakash, Sheen Kaf Nizam, Radhavallabh Tripathi and Madhav Kaushik, will participate in the event. PTI HWP MAS NSK

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
