New Delhi, Jul 4 (PTI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday hailed the inauguration of the CG Semi Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility in Gujarat’s Sanand by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying it marked a new milestone in India’s journey towards becoming a technology powerhouse.

In a post on X, Shah said the new facility represented “India’s new leap towards self-reliance in technology”.

“The inauguration of the new CG SEMI OSAT facility in Sanand, Gujarat, by PM Narendra Modi is a new milestone in India’s journey as a tech-powerhouse.

“The new facility will further invigorate Gujarat as India’s growth engine and open vast employment opportunities for youth,” Shah said.

Earlier, Modi said India is building the entire electronics value chain – from products and components to semiconductors – which is the roadmap to ‘Viksit Bharat’.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the facility, the prime minister said semiconductor and artificial intelligence revolutions would open up countless opportunities, and urged the country’s youth not to miss the moment. PTI MHS ARI
