Narayanpur (Chhattisgarh), Jun 26 (PTI) Security forces have recovered a huge cache of firearms, ammunition, explosive materials and Rs 24 lakh in cash from two Maoist dumps hidden in the forests of Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district, police said on Friday.

During the search operation in the Tekla forested hills under the Orchha police station limits, security personnel unearthed a Maoist dump containing firearms, ammunition, communication equipment and other materials hidden in the forest, he said.
The recovered cache included an INSAS rifle, two INSAS magazines and 21 rounds, two SLR rifles, four SLR magazines and 63 live rounds, two .303 rifles, two .303 magazines and 65 live rounds, two 30-OC guns, nine magazines and 36 live rounds, a BGL (Barrel Grenade Launcher) launcher, a single-shot gun, three detonators, two scanners, and 28 rounds of 6.7 mm ammunition, the official said.
In another operation in the Toyameta forested hills under the Chhotedongar police station area, security forces recovered Rs 24 lakh in cash concealed in a Maoist dump on Thursday, he said.
Security forces are committed to ensuring peace, security and development in the district through sustained anti-Maoist operations, the official said.
