Guna (MP), Jun 29 (PTI) Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia has laid the foundation stones and inaugurated various development projects of approximately Rs 350 crore in his Guna Lok Sabha constituency, Madhya Pradesh.
An official said on Monday that Scindia participated in numerous programmes related to environmental protection, water conservation, irrigation, railways, roads, energy, skill development, agricultural infrastructure, women’s empowerment, health, and public welfare over the four days. He also reviewed the progress of various development projects.
The visit began at the source of the Kuno River in Kanja village, where Scindia planted 700 saplings as part of the “One Tree in the Name of Mother” campaign, the official said.
He also launched the “Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan and inaugurated a check dam constructed at a cost of Rs 17.98 lakh in Chinera village.
“Conservation of water, forests, and land is possible only through public participation, and that environmental protection is the collective responsibility of every citizen,” Scindia added.
On the last day of his visit, Scindia laid the foundation stone for a power substation constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 278 crore at Mudra Hanuman. This substation will directly benefit more than 225,000 citizens in approximately 225 villages.
Nearly 100 km of power lines are being laid for this project.
Scindia said the power infrastructure will bring new light to the homes of millions of people, and they will no longer suffer from power cuts.
During his visit, the Union Minister inaugurated the 4.5 MW Sungarner solar plant, built at a cost of Rs 20 crore in Khutiyawad, which will generate approximately 7.5 million units of clean electricity annually.
He also inaugurated the modern ITI building, constructed at a cost of Rs 14.74 crore, in Tilwara (Marki Mahu) and the Dhanwadi power substation constructed at a cost of Rs 2.18 crore.
Scindia said that these projects will ensure skill development for youth and quality power supply in rural areas.
During his four-day visit, Scindia flagged off the Bina-Ruthiyai-Bina MEMU train service from Guna Railway Station.
He said that a proposal to change the train’s timings to meet local passenger demand has been sent to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.
Scindia also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for a fruit and vegetable market, to be built at a cost of approximately Rs 3 crore.
He also inaugurated three roads constructed at a cost of Rs 11.64 crore: Barkheda Gird-Durduru, Budha Balaji-Hanuman Tekri, and Mahuguda Phatak-Bamori Bujurg Marg. Land leases were also distributed to 160 beneficiaries in Budha Balaji.
The Union Minister interacted with beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana and women from self-help groups during the visit.
Describing the stories of successful women entrepreneurs as an inspiration for a developed India, he assured that efforts would be made to provide loading vehicles from the MPLADS to self-help groups with annual turnover exceeding Rs 1 crore and requiring transportation.
Scindia said that under PM Narendra Modi’s commitment to a developed India and the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, development work in the Guna parliamentary constituency is progressing at an unprecedented pace.
He said that development is not limited to construction projects alone, but aims to bring positive change to the lives of every citizen.
