Surat, Jun 14 (PTI) Surat-based philanthropic organisation Shri Ramakrishna Knowledge Foundation (SRKKF) has honoured individuals, including a top ophthalmologist and a well-known social worker, who have made significant contributions to society through service, compassion and leadership.

It organised the ‘Santokbaa Humanitarian Award 2026’ event here on Saturday, which was attended by Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh and Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi.

This year’s Santokbaa Humanitarian Awards were conferred on Padma Shri Dr Gullapalli N Rao, founder-chairman of L V Prasad Eye Institute and one of India’s leading ophthalmologists, and Padma Shri Reema Nanavaty, director of the Self-Employed Women’s Association, for their outstanding contributions in the fields of healthcare and social development.

In a new initiative, SRKKF introduced the Social Entrepreneur Award category to recognise business leaders creating positive social impact through their work.

The inaugural award was presented to Srikant Bolla, founder of Bollant Industries, an eco-friendly manufacturing company known for employing persons with disabilities and promoting sustainable business practices.

A Hindi biographical film on the life of Srikanth Bolla was released in 2024.

Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi praised SRKKF founder and Rajya Sabha MP Govind Dholakia and his family for creating employment opportunities for thousands while promoting strong ethical values through their philanthropic initiatives.

“Govind Dholakia and his family have not only generated employment for thousands through business and industry but have also played a significant role in promoting noble life values. Through their service-oriented work and exemplary lives, they have positively impacted millions of people,” he said. PTI COR KVM NR
