Thane, Jun 21 (PTI) Right-wing organisation Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has claimed that religious conversion networks are operating on Mumbai’s local trains and asked the railways and Maharashtra government to take immediate action against such elements.
In a statement released on Sunday, it alleged that the railway network, particularly the Panvel-CSMT AC locals, is being exploited by Christian missionaries and fraudsters.
Commuters are being targeted through posters promoting Christian “healing meetings” claiming to cure cancer through prayer, alongside misleading advertisements for “Bengali Babas”, it said.
The release said that the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has submitted a memorandum to the State Director General of Police, the Home Department, and the Central Railway General Manager.
Sunil Ghanwat, the outfit’s state coordinator, demanded immediate registration of FIRs against the organisers of such events and presses that print such misleading posters and advertisements. PTI COR NR
