Remains of two Malayalis killed in Vietnam boat tragedy to arrive on Jul 14

Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 13 (PTI) The mortal remains of two Malayalis who died in the boat tragedy in Vietnam will be brought to the state on Tuesday, the Kerala CMO said on Monday.

In a statement, the CMO said the bodies of Kottarakkara natives A C Thomas (57) and his wife Loveni Thomas (56) would be flown to Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday morning.

According to the CMO, the bodies will be flown from Mumbai to Thiruvananthapuram on Air India flight AI 2605.

The flight is scheduled to depart from Mumbai at 6.30 am and arrive at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport at 8.50 am.

According to Vietnamese media reports, 15 Indian tourists were killed in the accident on Saturday.

The speedboat was carrying 32 Indian tourists and four crew members when it capsized about 400 metres off Hon May Rut Ngoai, an island in the An Thoi archipelago off the coast of Phu Quoc, according to Vietnamese news portal VN Express International. PTI TBA SSK
