Gurugram, May 13 (PTI) A Rapido motorcycle driver and a passenger were killed after a speeding truck hit their vehicle in Gurugram’s Sector 95, police said on Wednesday.
The police identified the deceased passenger as Rohit Kumar Gupta (29), a resident of Lucknow working with a private company in Delhi and the driver as Jaipal (24), a native of Auraiya in Uttar Pradesh. Gupta lived as a tenant in Shanti Vihar, Sector 95.
Gupta had booked a Rapido ride on Tuesday morning to commute to his office in Delhi. While the two were heading towards Delhi, a truck coming from behind allegedly hit the bike after it crossed Sati Chowk.
Both suffered serious injuries and were rushed to a private hospital in Sector 90 by passersby, the police said.
Gupta’s father, Vinod Kumar Gupta, reached Gurugram from Lucknow on Tuesday and lodged a complaint alleging negligence on the truck driver’s part, they said.
The bodies were handed over to their families after post-mortems, the police said.
