Jaipur, Aug 14 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Friday said the Border Security Force (BSF) is strengthening the country’s security through sacrifice and dedication and his government is committed to the welfare of its personnel.
Sharma was speaking during a visit to a BSF post in Anupgarh, where he inspected a border outpost and witnessed a display of military weapons on the eve of Independence Day.
Interacting with BSF personnel, Sharma said steps have been taken under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership to make the country’s security system modern, capable and self-reliant, and to equip the paramilitary forces with advanced technology and resources.
The BSF is strengthening the country’s security and sovereignty through sacrifice, valour, courage and dedication. The state government is committed to the welfare of BSF personnel and their families, the chief minister said.
He also said road, communication and connectivity in border areas have been strengthened, which has not only bolstered security but also accelerated social and economic development in the region.
Sharma said BSF personnel have also planted lakhs of saplings in the desert region, establishing themselves as “environmental sentinels”.
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, who also visited the BSF post, said the force is making an important contribution towards realising the vision of a developed India.
Both the Centre and the state government are committed to addressing problems faced by people in border areas, he said.
Under the Vibrant Villages programme, Meghwal said, action plans had been prepared to address local issues such as water, electricity and housing.
