Jaipur, Aug 5 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Wednesday launched the state-level ‘Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan’, describing it as a grand festival of Sanatan cultural consciousness, social harmony and national unity.
Addressing a programme here, Sharma said the campaign would carry forward the message of equality, service, social justice and nation-building inspired by Sant Ravidas to every section of society.
He said the initiative, which began from Kashi on the occasion of Guru Purnima, is now moving across Rajasthan with a message of social harmony. Sacred soil urns will be taken to all 1,138 mandals and villages in the state, where various outreach programmes will be organised.
The chief minister said Sant Ravidas had, centuries ago, shown the path of equality, brotherhood and humanity, adding that India’s strength lies in rising above caste divisions with a nation-first approach.
He said the campaign will run till August 31, under which saints and seers across the state will be contacted and honoured. This will be followed by a ‘Guru Ravidas Samrasta Yatra’ and student outreach programmes to connect youth with his teachings and engage them on the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
