Jaipur, Apr 21 (PTI) Rajasthan BJP chief Satish Poonia said on Thursday that people trust the credibility of the media more than politics and batted for social security of mediapersons.
He also hailed the role of mediapersons during the Covid pandemic, saying many risked their lives while performing their duty.
Addressing the annual general meeting of All India Federation of PTI Employees Unions, Poonia said that India’s biggest strength today is the power of democracy.
Many countries which do not have this power (of democracy) are falling apart today, he said.
He said that during the pandemic, not only doctors and health workers, but mediapersons also put their lives at risk.
The BJP leader said that journalists should be brought under the ambit of social security. He said that he has always been sensitive about issues of welfare of journalists and will continue to do so. He also assured all kinds of cooperation to journalists.
General secretary of the Federation M S Yadav also said it is necessary to bring journalists under the ambit of social security. PTI SDA ZMN
