Rains settle mercury below normal in Haryana, Punjab

Chandigarh, Jul 10 (PTI) Rains lashed parts of Haryana and Punjab on Friday as day temperature continued to hover below normal limits at many places.

Chandigarh also received light monsoon showers during the day and the maximum temperature here settled at 32.3 degrees Celsius.

According to the Met here, Ambala, Hisar, Sirsa, Karnal and Sonipat were among the places in Haryana to receive rain, while Bathinda and Abhoar in Punjab also received rain.

Ambala recorded a maximum temperature of 31 degrees Celsius, four notches below normal limits.

Karnal recorded a maximum of 29.5 degrees Celsius, down four notches, while Narnaul recorded a high of 34.5 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal.

Gurugram recorded a high of 32.9 degrees Celsius.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a maximum of 35 degrees Celsius.

Patiala recorded a high of 32 degrees Celsius, over two notches below normal, while Ludhiana recorded a maximum of 34 degrees Celsius. PTI SUN SHS
