Nashik, Sept 2 (PTI) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday met a delegation of tribal students, including those who were on a hunger strike to press for their demands, during his visit to Nashik in Maharashtra, and said education is not a privilege but the right of every student in India.
He also said that students from marginalised communities should not face neglect from the system.
In a post on X, Gandhi said, “Today, in Nashik, Maharashtra, I met with a delegation of tribal students, who included students who were on a hunger strike regarding their demands. I carefully listened to their problems and demands.” The Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha said every student has the right to a respectful, safe, and conducive environment for their studies.
“Students from marginalised communities should not face neglect from the system; they need its support and every possible assistance,” Gandhi said.
