Ranchi, Sep 22 (PTI) Left outfits staged a demonstration in Ranchi on Tuesday, protesting the alleged sexual harassment of a girl in Bihar’s Jamui district.
AISA state secretary Triloki Nath alleged that incidents of rape and sexual assault against women were increasing in Bihar.
All India Progressive Women’s Association leader Nandita Bhattacharya said girls were not safe “whether on the streets or in schools and colleges”, despite the BJP government’s ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ slogan.
“This must be put to a stop,” she said.
Members of the two outfits raised slogans against the government as they demonstrated at the Albert Ekka Chowk.
