Hyderabad, Jun 27 (PTI) A 25-year-old pregnant woman allegedly died by suicide in Medak district of Telangana after her husband suspected her fidelity and sought a DNA test for the unborn child, police said on Saturday.
The deceased woman’s husband and her mother-in-law were arrested on Saturday.
The woman, who was five months pregnant, hung herself using a saree at her in-laws house on June 25 evening.
She got married one and a half years ago and had differences with her husband, who runs a bangles shop.
The woman, who worked in a hospital, had sent a message from her phone to a lab technician about her pregnancy reports.
However, the husband, who saw the message, suspected her fidelity. During an argument, he said he favoured a DNA test.
Upset over his remark, the woman took the extreme step.
The woman’s mother, who complained to police in the incident, alleged that her son-in-law suspecting her daughter led her to commit suicide, police added. PTI SJR SJR ROH
