Muzaffarpur, Sep 2 (PTI) Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor on Wednesday targeted Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary over the alleged molestation of a Delhi hotel employee by a minister in the state cabinet.
The Bankipur MLA told reporters in Muzaffarpur that “such incidents can be expected when the government is headed by a person with a tainted record.” Kishor was responding to a query about allegations levelled by Janata Janashakti Dal (JJD) president Tej Pratap Yadav against Bihar minister Sanjay Kumar Singh, whom he lost to in the Mahua assembly seat last year.
Union Minister Chirag Paswan, who heads LJP(RV), to which Singh belongs, has also urged the state government to investigate the matter and “take strong action even if the guilty happens to be from my party.” “Well, if the head of the government happens to be a person with a tainted record, you can always expect ministers and ruling party legislators to be embroiled in such controversies,” Kishor told reporters.

The Jan Suraaj Party founder who remains equidistant from the ruling NDA and the opposition Mahagathbandhan claimed that the alleged irregularities may have begun when the health portfolio was held by RJD working president Tejashwi Yadav.
“So, if Mangal Pandey (of BJP) comes under the scanner as a former health minister, the role of Tejashwi Yadav must also be investigated,” said Kishor.
He was also asked about upcoming elections for eight seats to the Bihar Legislative Council, of which the tenure ends in November.
Kishor replied, “We will contest all the seats and the candidates will be announced in 3-4 days.” Notably, one of the MLCs whose term is coming to an end is Afaq Ahmed who got elected from Saran Teacher’s constituency in 2022 with support from Jan Suraaj which had by then acquired momentum as a political movement but was yet to become a full-fledged party.
