The 1989-batch IAS officer assumed office after the superannuation of Suresh Chandra Mohapatra from service.
Before taking charge, Jena prayed at the Jagannath temple in Puri.
Jena was accorded a warm welcome by senior officers of the state administration.
During the day, he discussed various issues discussions with senior officers.
