Medininagar, Apr 15 (PTI) Seven quintals of poppy husk, worth around Rs 14 lakh, were seized from a truck on way to Uttar Pradesh in Jharkhand’s Palamu district, police said on Saturday.
The truck owner and driver, who were allegedly smuggling the poppy husk, were also arrested during a special checking drive near Chiyanki check post under Medininagar police station, some 170-km from capital Ranchi, on Friday evening, said Medininagar sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Rishab Garg.
He said that they were transporting poppy husk from Khunti district in Jharkhand to Muzaffarpur city in Uttar Pradesh. PTI CORR SAN RG RG
