Jammu, Oct 26 (PTI) The Police and Central Paramilitary Forces (CPMFs) on Monday conducted joint foot patrolling and area domination exercises along the border belt to strengthen security and maintain heightened vigilance amid reports of suspicious persons in the district, officials said.

The joint team was led by Samba SSP Anuj Kumar and comprised SDPOs, SHOs, police post in-charges and other police personnel, along with officials of the CRPF, CISF and BSF, they said.

The patrol covered sensitive border tracks and suspected infiltration routes, including Devak Bridge, Koulpur and Pangdour areas.

Security personnel patrolled over approximately six kilometres to assess ground-level security arrangements, enhance inter-agency coordination and identify potential security gaps.

SSP Anuj Kumar and other officers reviewed security arrangements during the exercise and stressed the need for close coordination among security agencies to ensure effective surveillance and maintain security in the border areas. PTI AB AB MPL

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
