Panaji, Jun 28 (PTI) Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Sunday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ showcased India’s growing self-reliance, environmental consciousness, and nation-building efforts through inspiring stories from across the country.

Sawant, BJP national general secretary (Organisation) B L Santhosh, and party workers listened to the 135th episode of the monthly radio broadcast at the BJP headquarters in Panaji.

The chief minister stated that PM Modi highlighted India’s steady progress on the path of ‘aatmanirbharta’ (self-reliance).

Modi referred to the induction of indigenously built naval ships, the successful maiden flight of the Made-in-India C-295 aircraft and the successful test of the indigenous Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile as examples of the country’s growing defence capabilities, Sawant said in a statement.

He added that the Prime Minister appreciated the enthusiastic response to the International Yoga Day celebrations and highlighted India’s evolving sporting culture through initiatives such as the Nagaland Baby League.

Sawant further said that Modi also spoke about blending ancient wisdom with modern technology through institutions such as Nalanda University and the Central Sanskrit University.

The chief minister said inspiring examples like Assam’s “Hargila Army”, Meghalaya’s living root bridges and the Prime Minister’s appeal to support local artisans by opting for clay Ganesh idols reflected the country’s commitment towards environmental responsibility.

“Once again, Mann Ki Baat brought together inspiring stories from different corners of the country, reminding us that every small effort contributes to the larger journey of nation building,” Sawant added. PTI RPS NSK
