Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, May 18 (PTI) Civic officials and corporators across party lines rode bicycles and electric vehicles to the municipal corporation in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Monday, responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for fuel conservation.
Led by Municipal Commissioner Amol Yedge and Mayor Sameer Rajurkar, civic officials and corporators ditched fuel-run vehicles for bicycles, e-scooters, electric cars, and public transport to reach their respective workplaces, a release stated.
Corporators of the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party cycled to the civic headquarters this morning, and electric vehicles belonging to the corporation were made available to officers who had planned field visits during the day, the release said.
