PM Modi to Launch Rs 23,300 Cr Agri, Animal Husbandry Initiatives in Maharashtra

The highlight of the Prime Minister's visit will be the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony for various development projects worth over Rs 32,800 crore in Thane.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maharashtra on 5 October, focusing on agriculture, infrastructure, and urban mobility initiatives, a PIB press release stated.

In Washim, the Prime Minister will commence his day by performing Darshan at Jagdamba Mata Temple in Poharadevi and paying tribute at the Samadhis of Sant Sevalal Maharaj and Sant Ramrao Maharaj. He will then inaugurate the Banjara Virasat Museum, celebrating the heritage of the Banjara community. Following this, PM Modi will launch several initiatives worth Rs 23,300 crore in the agricultural and animal husbandry sectors.

The highlight of the Prime Minister’s visit will be the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony for various development projects worth over Rs 32,800 crore in Thane. Key projects include the inauguration of the Aarey JVLR to BKC section of Mumbai Metro Line 3 Phase – 1, a 10-station underground stretch that is expected to significantly improve connectivity between Mumbai city and its suburbs. Further bolstering urban mobility, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project, a 29 km elevated and underground line, and the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension from Chheda Nagar to Anand Nagar in Thane.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project, comprising crucial road and utility infrastructure, and the Thane Municipal Corporation building. During his visit, PM Modi will also disburse the 18th instalment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi, amounting to Rs 20,000 crore, to 9.4 crore farmers. With the 18th installment release, the total funds released to farmers under PM-KISAN will be around Rs 3.45 lakh crore.

Other initiatives include dedicating 9,200 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) with a combined turnover of Rs 1,300 crore and launching the Unified Genomic Chip for cattle and indigenous sex-sorted semen technology**. This technology aims to enhance the availability and affordability of sex-sorted semen for farmers.

Finally, PM Modi will conclude his visit by flagging off the Mumbai Metro train scheduled to run from BKC to Aarey JVLR and taking a ride between BKC and Santacruz stations.
