Chennai, Apr 28 (PTI) Haritha, an advocate at the Madras High Court, urged the high-power committee to halt the counting of votes polled in the election to the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and hold polls afresh.
In a representation to the Bar Council of India and the high-power committee, the Chennai advocate said the counting of votes, which commenced on April 3, should be stopped due to alleged discrepancies.
The election to the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry was held on March 30 to elect 23 members of the council.
In a statement here on Tuesday, Haritha claimed instances of double printing and excess ballots, variation in code numbers on ballots, font size and style, and differences in counterfoil numbers with ballots have surfaced.
Hence, counting should be halted, and repolling should be held for all the districts, Haritha urged in her representation to the high-power election committee and returning officer. PTI JSP JSP ADB
