Thane, Jul 17 (PTI) Irate citizens of Mira-Bhayander on Friday took out a protest march to Kashigaon police station demanding registration of a case against a builder after a construction crane collapse a day earlier killed a 20-year-old man, injured a woman and damaged several vehicles.

A man identified as Muzammil Khokar was killed after a crane collapsed from the 13th floor of an under-construction building in Mira Road East on Thursday. The crane, which was being used for construction work, suddenly gave way and crashed into the society premises, hitting several vehicles parked below, as per police.

“People had warned the builder about the hazard related to the crane but he went ahead with the construction work. I want justice for my son,” Khokar’s father told reporters.

The protesters carried placards seeking justice for Khokar. They also alleged that the process of registering a case at Kashigaon police station in connection with the incident was yet to be completed.

There was no update from the police in this regard. PTI COR BNM
