Thane, Jul 17 (PTI) A portion of a boundary wall of a bungalow collapsed onto a busy road in Maharashtra’s Thane city on Friday morning, civic officials said.

No one was injured in the incident, which occurred in the Naupada area around 9.30 am, they said.

“Personnel from the disaster management cell, along with a pickup vehicle and a JCB machine, rushed to the site to clear the debris. They were joined by a junior engineer from the Public Works Department and staff from the anti-encroachment department,” said Yasin Tadvi, Chief of the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC).

According to officials, the bungalow itself is in a precarious state, and civic authorities had already flagged the property for its structural vulnerability.

“The building of the said bungalow has already been declared as ‘C-1’ category, meaning it is highly dangerous, unfit for habitation, and requires immediate demolition,” Tadvi said. PTI COR ARU
