Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 15 (PTI) The parents of the first-year BDS Dalit student, who allegedly died by suicide at a private dental college in Kannur in April, on Wednesday claimed that their son has not yet got justice and met Kerala Chief Minister V D Satheesan in connection with the matter.

After submitting a complaint to the CM, they told reporters here that it has been 95 days since the death of their son — Nithin Raj — but he has not got justice as the culprits are moving around scot-free.

The student’s mother cried with folded hands before the cameras and said that her son had not got justice till now.

“He should get justice. If he does not get justice, I and my husband shall also go to him (Raj),” she cried.

“I sent him to study and not to be killed,” she added.

Her husband alleged that the investigation in the case was “cruelly sabotaged” by the police in Kannur, including senior officers, which helped the accused. At the same time, he expressed hope that they would get justice.

Congress MP Kodikunnil Suresh, who was present when the parents gave their complaint to Satheesan, said that the CM has spoken in a favourable manner regarding the matter and has assured the parents that they will get justice.

The Congress MP further said that the main accused in the case, Dr N K Ram, is yet to surrender or be arrested despite denial of bail to him even by the Supreme Court.

The Action Council for Nithin Raj told reporters that a comprehensive probe was required as the current investigation was extremely unsatisfactory.

Raj was found dead on April 10 after falling from a building on the college campus in a suspected suicide. PTI HMP KH
