New Delhi, Jul 13 (PTI) More than 97 per cent of Delhi’s 1.45 crore electors have been provided enumeration forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, while close to 10 per cent of the electorate has had completed forms digitised, according to official data.
As per the status report issued on Monday, a total of 1,40,97,667 enumeration forms have been distributed, covering 97.16 per cent of the capital’s 1,45,10,298 electors.
The number of digitised forms stood at 14,03,970, accounting for 9.68 per cent of the total electorate. The door-to-door enumeration drive began on June 30 and will continue till July 29.
With the distribution of enumeration forms nearing completion, officials said the focus will now increasingly shift to collecting the filled forms and digitising them.
According to the Chief Electoral Officer’s data, North East recorded the highest number of forms distributed at 18,67,425, followed by East (15,78,789), South (13,15,210), West (14,32,849) and South East (14,88,324).
In percentage terms, New Delhi topped the list with 99.92 per cent of its electors covered, followed by North East (99.82 per cent), Central (98.87 per cent), East (98.47 per cent) and Central North (98.09 per cent).
North West recorded the lowest distribution percentage at 90.81 per cent, followed by Old Delhi (94.85 per cent), Outer North (94.66 per cent), South East (95.57 per cent) and South (97.79 per cent).
In terms of digitisation, South West led with 1,84,464 forms, followed by Outer North (1,77,444), West (1,67,739), North West (1,35,920) and North East (1,25,655).
Percentage-wise, Outer North recorded the highest digitisation rate at 21.31 per cent, followed by South West (13.87 per cent), Central North (12.26 per cent), North (11.74 per cent) and West (11.52 per cent).
East recorded the lowest digitisation rate at 5.66 per cent, followed by Old Delhi (5.76 per cent), Central (6.39 per cent), South East (6.47 per cent) and North East (6.72 per cent).
Under the SIR exercise, booth-level officers (BLO) are distributing two copies of the enumeration form to every elector. One copy is retained by the voter as acknowledgement, while the other is submitted to the BLO after being filled.
The Election Commission has said voters can also submit their forms online.
The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on October 7 after completion of the revision exercise. PTI MSJ RUK RUK
