Shimla, Sep 9 (PTI) More than 60 roads were rendered inaccessible in Himachal Pradesh after a spell of rain, which will last till September 15, officials said on Wednesday.
Several parts of the state have seen light to moderate rain over the past 24 hours since Tuesday evening. Dhaulakuan in Sirmaur district received 39.5 mm of rain, the highest in the state, followed by Guler 19.3 mm, Dharamshala 22.4 mm, Sujanpur Tira 12.2 mm, and Jogindernagar 6 mm.
Sixty-four roads were shut for vehicular traffic across the state.
Mandi was particularly hit, with 31 roads shut in the district.
Eleven roads were closed in Kullu, ten in Kangra, five in Sirmaur, three in Una, two in Shimla, and one each in Solan and Lahaul-Spiti, according to the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC).
Himachal Pradesh has received 45.6 mm of rain against a normal rainfall of 50.1 mm so far in the month.
Since the onset of the monsoon on June 30, at least 114 people have died in rain-related incidents, while the state has suffered losses amounting to Rs 1,550 crore, officials said. PTI BPL VN VN
