Jaipur, May 2 (PTI) More than 500 walls were painted on Saturday in Jaipur under the ‘Rang De Gulabi’ campaign of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation, marking a large-scale civic initiative that aimed to blend beautification with social messages.

The campaign, carried out simultaneously across all 13 zones of the city, saw the creation of over 600 artworks on public walls, depicting themes such as cleanliness, environmental conservation, women empowerment and national unity.

“The initiative went beyond beautification and emerged as a people’s movement which had strong participation from citizens, especially students from various schools and colleges who contributed enthusiastically,” an official said.

Members of the transgender community also actively took part in the campaign, according to the official. They invited senior officials, including the municipal commissioner and the district collector, to join them in painting walls.

The officials accepted the request and participated in the activity, after which they were greeted with traditional blessings, the official added.

Jaipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Om Kasera conducted visits to multiple locations to monitor the progress, interacted with participants and encouraged volunteers.

He said the campaign aligns with efforts to develop Jaipur as a clean, aesthetically appealing and culturally vibrant city with strong public participation. PTI SDA PRK
