Kendrapara (Odisha), Sep 7 (PTI) A 10-foot-long python was rescued by forest personnel near Bhitarkanika National Park in Odisha’s Kendrapara district, officials said on Monday.
The python, which was rescued near Khola River Bridge, was shifted to the park’s rearing centre for health observation, they said.
Its health condition would be assessed, following which it would be released into the wild.
Forest officials said pythons are generally not aggressive towards humans, though large specimens are powerful enough to pose a threat.
