Indore, Sep 22 (PTI) The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence has arrested a 24-year-old Nigerian woman in Indore and seized drugs, including amphetamine, valued at more than Rs 1 crore, from her bag while she was about to board a bus to Pune, officials said on Tuesday.
Based on a tip-off, the woman was stopped near Teen Imli intersection on Monday. During a search, officials recovered 1,120 grams of amphetamine, 296 grams of MDMA (ecstasy), and 10 grams of marijuana grown using hydroponics, all packed in separate polythene bags.
Hydroponics is a modern agricultural system in which plants are grown using only water and nutrient solutions instead of soil.
Officials said the drugs recovered from the Nigerian woman are valued at Rs 1.19 crore.
The accused was arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, and a detailed investigation is underway. PTI HWP NSK
