NDMC, NIUA ink pact to conduct seminars on municipal finance during ‘Urban-20’ meet

New Delhi, Jan 17 (PTI) The New Delhi Municipal Council and the National Institute of Urban Affairs have signed a pact for conducting seminars on municipal finance during ‘Urban-20’ which will be held under the aegis of the G-20, an official statement said on Tuesday.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for capacity building and enhancement of municipal finance and management was signed by Hitesh Vaidya – Director, NIUA and Ram Singh – Director (Finance), NDMC.

Amit Yadav, chairperson, NDMC, Puskal Upadhyay, Financial Advisor, NDMC and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.

The pact aims at encouraging partnership between key stakeholders through efficient knowledge sharing and information exchange, the NDMC said in the statement. This association will help enhance institutional capacity of the organization to play a more active role in contributing to the growth of the region and country, it noted.

“The association looks forward to agreed joint activities and conducting national level seminars and workshops on municipal finance during the India Participation of U20 and G20,” it added.

India holds the presidency of the influential group from December 1, 2022 to November 30, 2023 during which it is expected to organise more than 200 G20 meetings across the country, including in Delhi. PTI VA VA TDS TDS
