The episode brought back the moment when Prime Minister Narendra Modi enjoyed the food during electioneering in West Bengal a few months ago.
Nabin shared a 56-second video of the episode on social media with the caption, “Tried my hand at Kolkata’s famous Jhalmuri!”
The video showed the BJP leader mixing the ingredients himself at the ‘Yuva Samvad Conclave’, with people around him offering assistance. Nabin, however, continued preparing the snack on his own before tasting it.
Nabin’s ‘jhalmuri’ moment comes around five months after the spicy snack found an unexpected place in the spotlight during the 2026 West Bengal Assembly election campaign, when the Prime Minister made a stop at a roadside stall in Jhargram and sampled it.
