Aizawl, Apr 24 (PTI) The Mizoram State Project Monitoring Committee (MSPMC) has decided to summon heads of departments who fail to act on the panel’s recommendations over ongoing projects, an official said.

The decision was taken at the committee’s general body meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Lalduhoma, he said.

“At the 8th MSPMC meeting in Aizawl, chaired by CM @Lal_Duhoma, it was decided that departments failing to act on MSPMC recommendations will be summoned, with action if needed,” the CMO said on X.

Addressing the meeting, Lalduhoma said that MSPMC initiatives have yielded positive outcomes and called for sustained commitment from its members.

He said that to ensure rapid development, the state government has streamlined the project workflow to eliminate bottlenecks.

Earlier, prolonged file movement caused significant delays in project execution as departments were required to seek financial allocation, administrative approval, and expenditure sanction at multiple stages, the CM said.

“We have now empowered secretaries to grant both administrative approval and expenditure sanction within their own departments, which will drastically speed up development work,” the chief minister said.

The meeting also deliberated upon improving monitoring mechanisms for the current financial year, including streamlining field visits and enhancing public outreach, officials said. PTI CORR RBT
