Missing boy found dead in Ken River in UP’s Banda

Stay updated with ThePrint:

Banda, Nov 4 (PTI) The body of a 13-year-old boy, who had been missing since Monday evening, was recovered from the Ken River here on Wednesday, a police officer said.

The boy, identified as Anuj, was a resident of the Nunia locality under the City Kotwali police station limits, Circle Officer Saurabh Singh said.

He said the boy’s body was recovered from the river on Wednesday and sent for postmortem examination.

According to neighbours, Anuj’s parents had died earlier, and he lived with his younger brother, aged around eight years.

“The neighbours would provide food and other assistance to the two children as they were orphans,” Singh said, citing the neighbours.

The boy was last seen by neighbours in the locality around 8.30 pm on Monday, the officer said.

The exact cause of death would be known after the postmortem report is received, he added. PTI COR KIS NB
