Kozhikode (Kerala), Jul 4 (PTI) Kerala Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty on Saturday acknowledged a spelling mistake he made while writing ‘Keralam’ during an event, saying he accepted the criticism in the right spirit and would be more careful in future.

The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leader had written “Keralam, Let’s Talk” on a whiteboard while inaugurating an AI event in Kochi recently.

However, the word “Keralam” was misspelt, triggering several troll videos and posts on social media platforms.

In a Facebook post responding to the trolls, Kunhalikutty said the mistake occurred due to a momentary distraction while people around him were talking as he was writing.

“I noticed the trolls based on a small spelling mistake I made while writing greetings at the programme held in Kochi the other day. I have seen all your trolls,” he wrote with a smiling emoji.

He said that it was a mistake caused by a brief moment of confusion when people around me were talking while he was writing.

“When such matters are pointed out, I accept them in their entirety. I will be more careful about such things in the coming days,” he said.

The senior leader said he would always listen to criticism and opinions from the public with a democratic spirit and would correct mistakes whenever they occurred.

“The people have every right to criticise and point out mistakes. Listening to their views and moving forward by accepting them is the policy of the UDF, this government and myself,” he said.

He also thanked people for their affection and for pointing out his mistake. PTI TBA TBA ROH
