Gurugram, Apr 18 (PTI) Mewati singer Aslam, who was arrested for promoting gun culture and extortion in a song uploaded on YouTube, was sent to 14 days of judicial custody by a Nuh court on Saturday, police said.

The 25-year-old singer, a resident of Nawalgarh village under the Bichhor police station, was arrested on Friday, after a police official posted in the social media cell of Nuh cyber police filed a complaint on April 12.

In his complaint, the official stated that the song glorifies possession of illegal weapons and mentions extortion and other criminal activities in a threatening tone.

The song was released on the YouTube channel ‘Aslam Singer Zamindar Topic.’ Following the complaint, an FIR was registered against the singer, leading to his arrest on Friday.

Possibilities of arrest of other possible accused in this case cannot be ruled out, Nuh police spokesperson said, adding further probe is underway. PTI COR AMJ AMJ
