New Delhi: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is providing multilingual accessibility at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, which takes place from Jan. 13 to Feb. 26, 2025, through its Bhashini language translation platform. This initiative aims to bridge language barriers for attendees from across India and abroad, a PIB press release stated.

One key feature is the “Digital Lost & Found Solution,” enabling pilgrims to report lost or found items in their native languages through voice recognition. The system, powered by Bhashini, will provide real-time text and voice translation to facilitate communication between individuals and authorities.

Additionally, the Kumbh Sah’AI’yak chatbot, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been integrated with Bhashini to offer multilingual support in 11 languages, including Hindi, English, and nine other Indian languages. This AI-powered chatbot, powered by cutting-edge AI technologies (such as Llama LLM), will assist pilgrims with information and navigation needs.

Furthermore, the UP 112 emergency helpline has partnered with Bhashini to incorporate its “CONVERSE” feature into the mobile application. This feature will enable police officers to communicate effectively with devotees who may not speak the local language, ensuring timely assistance in case of emergencies.
