Dehradun, Nov 6 (PTI) Uttarakhand BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt on Friday said the ‘massive turnout’ at the ‘Loktantra Bachao Arajakta Hatao’ foot march in Dehradun indicates that the party would form a government for the third consecutive term.
The state president called the BJP a party of the people– one that grew through public struggles and grassroots movements.
“It cannot be easily challenged, either in the legislature or on the street, by entities that have merely thrived within the corridors of power. The overwhelming crowds seen at all the foot marches held across the state serve as a guarantee that the BJP will form the government for a third consecutive term in 2027,” Bhatt said.
On Friday, the foot march commenced from Mangla Devi Inter College near Survey Chowk and was led by Bhatt, alongside state co-in-charges Arvind Menon and Bansuri Swaraj.
Addressing the gathering, Bhatt said the nation and the state are reaching new heights of development, as the public has placed its trust in the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“However, the Congress and other opposition parties, having been repeatedly rejected by the public through democratic processes, have become desperate and dejected, and are now intent on dismantling the entire constitutional framework,” he added.
The state BJP president alleged that in collusion with foreign conspirators, Congress seeks to reduce the nation to a state similar to that of Bangladesh, Nepal, or France.
Bhatt condemned the ‘attempts’ by the Congress and opposition parties over the past few months to “incite chaos through a politics of confrontation on the streets.”
Party leaders called on the opposition to remember that when they threaten to change the nation’s regime through chaotic street-level politics, “they conveniently forget that the BJP itself grew into the world’s largest political party precisely by waging public struggles on the streets.”
