Mumbai, Nov 6 (PTI) An unidentified man allegedly snatched the gold chain of a 76-year-old woman inside a residential building complex in Mumbai’s Kandivali area, police said on Friday.
The incident took place on Tuesday night when the senior citizen, Aruna Anilkant Rupani, was standing near the elevator outside her flat in Uman Society on Mathuradas Extension Road.
CCTV footage from the society premises, which has since gone viral on social media, shows a man posing as a delivery person and repeatedly asking Rupani for what appears to be an address. As she turns towards her flat, the man snatches her gold chain despite her resistance.
Senior Inspector Karan Kawale of Kandivali police station said a case had been registered and efforts were underway to trace the chain-snatcher. PTI ZA NR
